Petra Lundh is set to take over as the national police chief on December 1st, with a monthly salary of 188,000 SEK (about €17,500), only 3,000 SEK (about €300) less than prime minister Ulf Kristersson.
Lundh will see a significant salary increase of 52,000 SEK (around €4,800 Euros) compared to her previous income as the president of the Svea Court of Appeal. Her new monthly salary will also be 8,100 SEK (approximately €750) higher than that of her predecessor, national police chief Anders Thornberg, according to Publikt, a trade union news publication.
On the other hand, Thornberg will experience a decrease in salary in his new position as governor and head of the county administrative board in Halland County. A uniform salary for governors is 112,000 SEK per month (€10,400), except in Stockholm, Västra Götaland, Norrbotten, and Skåne, where the salary is 5,000 SEK higher (approximately €470).
Lundh, whose salary is determined by the government, becomes through this increase the highest-paid agency head in Sweden, with a monthly salary that is only 3,000 SEK (around €280 Euros) less than prime minister Ulf Kristersson.
