Elon Musk criticizes Wikipedia for being politically correct, pointing out the encyclopedia’s close ties to the NewsGuard censorship tool.
The entrepreneur announces that he will offer the encyclopedia one billion dollars if it changes its name to “Dickipedia” for one year.
Elon Musk is not a fan of Wikipedia – or at least not of the foundation behind the encyclopedia and its co-founder Jimmy Wales. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), he launches a scathing attack on Wikimedia, accusing Wikipedia of being “woke”. He also offers Wikipedia a billion dollars if they change their name to “Dickipedia”, a name he says would be more appropriate.
Please fix wokipedia

At the same time, he questions why the Wikimedia Foundation needs so much in donations and other funding, pointing out that large sums are hardly necessary to run the encyclopedia.
“So, what’s the money for? Inquiring minds want to know …”, he writes.
Have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation wants so much money?
It certainly isn’t needed to operate Wikipedia. You can literally fit a copy of the entire text on your phone!

Musk goes on to point out that Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales also works as an advisor to “net auditor” NewsGuard, which has worked with EU authorities to increase Internet censorship and crack down on alternative media and opinion-makers in various ways. This includes pressuring companies to stop advertising on sites and media outlets accused of spreading “disinformation”, thereby depriving them of revenue.
“This is crazy!”, Musk declares.
