After much deliberation and pressure from the audience, Sound of Freedom will now be released outside the US and Canada. This is largely due to the film’s continued success in the US box office market.
News of the acclaimed film’s international release came this week following its mega-success in US theaters. According to the latest US box office figures, Sound of Freedom has already grossed nearly $175 million. With a budget of only about $15 million, it is a massive box office success.
The international release of the film will begin with South Africa on August 18, followed by Australia and New Zealand on August 24. The bulk of the international release will take place on August 31, with the film premiering in Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia and several other Central and South American countries.
As for Europe, only three countries are currently involved – England and Ireland on September 1 and Spain later in October. A not too bold guess is that more release dates will follow. Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia have no current release dates at the time of this writing.
“Child trafficking a global issue”
Movies that make money are always of interest to studios, and although Sound of Freedom has been surrounded by left-liberal conspiracy theories about right-wing ghosts, albeit without concrete evidence, it is now getting wider global distribution.
You ask, we answer. “Sound of Freedom” is on its way around the world.

Jared Geesey, Vice President of Global Distribution for Angel Studios, is excited that the film will now reach an international audience.
– Child trafficking is a global issue, and we hope to build on the incredible momentum here in the States and share the film’s powerful message worldwide, Geesey said.
Angel Studios will release the drama thriller directly to theatres in Latin America and the United Kingdom and Ireland. It will work with local distributors in other markets.
Directed and written by Alejandro Monteverde, Sound of Freedom stars Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ) as former federal agent Tim Ballard. Mira Sorvino, Bill Camp, José Zúñiga and Eduardo Verástegui complete the cast.
As previously reported, the film is based on Tim Ballard’s own experiences in the fight against child sex trafficking.
