In a clip that has once again gone viral, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen confirms that NATO decided back in 2008 that Ukraine would join the US-led military alliance.
He also states that after dealing with the “Russia problem,” it is time to “focus on China”.
During a lecture organized by Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s own think tank, the Alliance of Democracies, last year, the former NATO Secretary General confirmed that the elite had already decided in 2008 that Ukraine would soon join NATO.
Former secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen:
“We already decided in 2008 that Ukraine will join NATO.”
But please continue to believe this war wasn’t wanted by our overlords.

– We should not just repeat the language. We decided already back in 2008 that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. We decided that in 2008.
– It isn’t sufficient to just repeat that, we should do something more. And I think NATO should decide to say, ‘Okay, we outline a roadmap towards Ukrainian membership of NATO’, he continues, arguing that in the meantime, Ukraine should be protected by the military alliance through a special comprehensive security compact.
China – “the global challenge”
According to Fogh Rasmussen, it is of the utmost importance that the “Russia problem” is “fixed” as soon as possible, and he believes that a strong and stable Ukraine is necessary for long-term peace and stability in Europe.
– By that, we will free up resources to address the real long-term global challenge, namely China, he stressed.
In addition, the former NATO chief makes statements similar to those often made by other Western leaders, namely that Ukraine should receive all the weapons it needs, including long-range missiles, heavy tanks and fighter jets.
– We should sustain joint training and exercises under EU flag and NATO flag, also on Ukrainian soil, he adds, stressing that NATO will continue to support Ukraine “as long as it takes”.
Israeli inspiration
NATO’s proposed security guarantees for Ukraine are similar to those previously given by the US to its close ally Israel.
– Obviously, there are differences between Ukraine and Israel. But basically we have modeled the Kiev security pact over the security arrangement between the US and Israel.
