On Tuesday, a recording of a private conversation between independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Republican Donald Trump was released – in which the latter criticizes, among other things, extensive mass vaccination programs for young children and their side effects.

In the clip, Trump can be heard trying to convince Kennedy to endorse him for president, saying he would like to see Kennedy “do something”.

– And I think it would be good for you and so big for you. And we’re going to win, he exclaims, to which Kennedy replies, “yes”.

In the clip, which was posted by Kennedy’s eldest son but quickly deleted, Trump also expresses criticism and concern about the high number of vaccinations given to American infants – a pet issue for RFK.

– I agree with you, man. Something’s wrong with that whole system, and it’s the doctors you find, Trump is heard saying, pointing out, among other things, that infant vaccinations today are like “38 different vaccines” and “it looks like it’s meant for a horse, not a, you know, 10-pound or 20-pound baby”.

– And then you see the baby all of a sudden starting to change radically, and then you hear that it doesn’t have an impact, right?

Weighing in on the issue

Kennedy is not considered to have a real chance of being elected US president, but he could have a big impact in so-called wave states where it is very close between Biden and Trump, according to polls he is about equally popular in both camps.

On Monday, a spokesman for RFK announced that he had no plans to drop out of the race – but that was before the Trump talks took place.
