In a stunning announcement on Tuesday, President Donald Trump declared that the US will “take over” the entire Gaza Strip, “level the site” and then rebuild it.

The US President also believes that the two million Palestinians currently living in the area must leave Gaza permanently.

– They instead can occupy all of a beautiful area with homes and safety, and they can live out their lives in peace and harmony in other areas or countries, he said at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

– The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area, the President continued.

Gaza, according to Trump, will be transformed into the “Riviera of the Middle East”. However, it is not mainly Palestinians in Gaza who will benefit from this prosperity instead, “people from all over the world will live there”.

“Can’t live in Gaza”

Trump wants the entire Palestinian population to be permanently relocated to other countries such as neighboring Jordan and Egypt.

– We should go to other countries of interest with humanitarian hearts, and there are many of them that want to do this, and build various domains that will ultimately be occupied by the 1.8 million Palestinians living in Gaza.

Forcing the entire Palestinian population to leave their homes forever has, according to the President, great advantages because in such a scenario they’re “going to have peace” and will not be shot at and killed.

– The only reason the Palestinians want to go back to Gaza is they have no alternative.

“Everyone loves the idea”

He also believes that a US “long-term ownership” of Gaza will “bring great stability” to the region and that this is a very popular idea back home in the US.

– Everybody I have spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land.

Asked if the displaced Palestinians will have the right to return in the future, the President says this is not an issue.

It would be my hope that we could do something really nice, really good, where they wouldn’t want to return. Why would they want to return? That place has been hell.

“Fresh ideas”

Speaking briefly after Trump, Netanyahu praised the US president for his “fresh ideas”.

– I believe, Mr. President, that your willingness to puncture conventional thinking, thinking that has failed time and time and time again, your willingness to think outside the box with fresh ideas will help us achieve all these goals.

Jordan and Egypt have so far resisted taking in millions of displaced Palestinians but Trump said he still had “a feeling” that the countries’ leaders “will open their hearts and will give us the kind of land that we need to get this done. And people can live in harmony and peace”.

Trump’s largest donor refused to answer the question: “Do you love the USA or Israel more?”

During his speech in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, on Monday, Donald Trump drew attention to his largest financial backer, Israeli-American casino magnate Miriam Adelson – and simultaneously revealed a sensitive question he had asked her.

— Look at her sitting there so innocently,” he said. “I’m going to get her in trouble with this — but I actually asked her once, ‘So Miriam: I know you love Israel. What do you love more, the United States or Israel?’ She refused to answer. That means that might be an issue, I must say, Trump said to muted laughter in the parliament.

Adelson, who was sitting in the gallery, received a standing ovation when Trump praised her support for Israel and noted that she had made “more trips to the White House than anybody else”.

The 80-year-old invested $106 million in her pro-Trump super PAC Preserve America ahead of the 2024 election. Together with her late husband Sheldon, the Adelson family has donated over $600 million to Trump’s three presidential campaigns and other Republican candidates since 2015.

After her husband’s death in 2021, Miriam took over majority control of Las Vegas Sands, which operates major casinos in Singapore and Macau. She also owns one of Israel’s most widely read newspapers, Israel Hayom, and the basketball team Dallas Mavericks. Her fortune is estimated at over $60 billion.

Committed Zionist

Born in Tel Aviv in 1945 to Jewish immigrants from Poland, Adelson trained as a physician before becoming one of the Republican Party’s most important financiers. As a committed Zionist, she has long used her economic influence to shape US policy toward Israel.

The Adelson family was instrumental in getting Trump to move the US embassy to Jerusalem and to recognize Israeli control over the Golan Heights, and Trump awarded Miriam the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2018.

Her rhetoric hardened further after the attack on October 7, 2023.

“Foreign fans of Hamas are our enemies, the ideological enablers in the West of those who would go to any length to eradicate us from the Middle East. And, as such, they should be dead to us”, she wrote in her own newspaper.

At a campaign event in September, she urged Jewish voters to support Trump “in gratitude for everything he has done and trust in everything he will yet do”.

Trump signs order to label Antifa a terrorist organization

Antifa is linked to a long series of violent acts in the United States - including deadly ones.

As promised, Donald Trump has signed an order classifying Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. The White House describes the network as “radical Left terrorists that aim to overthrow the government through violence and agitation”.

In a press release, it states that the order is part of the Trump administration’s tougher stance against what it describes as “an epidemic of radical left-wing violence”.

“This is a time that demands fearless and courageous leadership — not moral cowardice, indecision, or the lack of fortitude to call this what it is”, the White House writes in the statement.

As grounds for the decision, the administration presents a comprehensive list of what it describes as Antifa-related violence in recent years.

Trump’s administration highlights several deadly and violent incidents, including shootings against federal officials where an officer was shot in the neck at an ICE facility in Texas in July 2025, as well as the murder of a Trump supporter in Portland in 2020.

Bombings and murders

The administration also points to bomb attacks, such as when an explosive device detonated outside the Alabama Attorney General’s office in 2024, and attacks with Molotov cocktails against police at training facilities.

A recurring example is the occupation of parts of the Capitol Hill area in Seattle in 2020, where activists declared an “autonomous zone” which according to the White House led to several deaths and violent clashes with police. The administration also describes how ICE facilities have repeatedly been attacked, including an attempt in 2019 to ignite a 500-liter propane tank at a facility in Tacoma, Washington.

The White House argues that these events show a pattern of escalating violence aimed at overthrowing the government and attacking the justice system. It also lists other acts of violence linked to the “radical left”, including the assassination attempts against Trump in Pennsylvania and Florida in 2024, to underscore what it sees as a growing threat from the far left.

Difficult to implement

How the terrorist classification will be practically implemented remains unclear, not least since Antifa is a loosely organized network without central organization, making it difficult to define who belongs to the group. The violent network describes itself as anti-fascist and has no formal leadership or membership registry.

The decision will likely also face legal challenges and protests from left-wing groups who argue that such a classification could violate freedom of speech and freedom of association under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Trump promised during the election campaign to take forceful action against what he described as the left-wing violence that has long plagued the country, and today’s order is regarded by his supporters as an important step in that direction.

Trump classifies Antifa as terrorist organization

Trump describes Antifa as a group of criminal and violent left-wing extremists.

President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will classify the far-left and violence-embracing movement Antifa as a “major terrorist organization”.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump described the far-left group as “a sick, dangerous, radical left disaster” and announced that he will “strongly recommend” that those who finance Antifa be thoroughly investigated.

— Antifa is terrible. These aren’t protests, these are crimes that they’re doing. They’re throwing bricks at cars of the ICE and Border Patrol. They’re professional agitators. They should be put in jail. What they’re doing to this country is really subversive, the president told reporters in the Oval Office earlier this week.

The announcement comes in the shadow of the murder of Charlie Kirk, founder of the conservative organization Turning Point USA, which occurred on September 10, and Trump has publicly linked the suspected killer Tyler Robinson to militant far-left extremism.

“Radical left group of lunatics”

According to authorities, shell casings found near the suspected murder weapon were engraved with the texts “Hey fascist! Catch!” and “Bella ciao bella ciao ciao” – the latter phrase comes from an anti-fascist song that was popularized by the Italian resistance during World War II.

— We have a radical left group of lunatics out there, just absolute lunatics, and we’re going to get that problem solved, Trump told reporters before boarding his presidential helicopter.

The president simultaneously emphasized that he wants people to react to Kirk’s death in a non-violent manner, something he stressed that Kirk himself advocated throughout his career.

Violence and threats against dissidents

Antifa, which is an abbreviation for “anti-fascist”, is a decentralized far-left movement that lacks designated leaders, formal membership or a strict organizational structure. The movement claims to combat what they themselves call fascism, white power ideology and right-wing extremism – but has over the years exercised violence against conservatives as well as liberals and immigration critics.

Violence-embracing activists who identify with Antifa – often dressed in black clothing and masks – have also been criticized for spreading political opponents’ personal information online and carrying out or inciting attacks against them.

Trump on murdered Charlie Kirk: “A martyr for truth”

Assassination of Charlie Kirk

Conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed yesterday during an appearance at Utah Valley University. The murder has shocked the United States, and President Donald Trump has condemned the act in several statements, calling Kirk a “martyr for truth and freedom”.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was participating in a public event during his “American Comeback Tour” when he was shot in front of an audience of approximately 3,000 people.

According to the police report, a single shot was fired from a rooftop of a building approximately 200 meters from the stage, and the bullet struck Kirk in the neck. Witnesses describe how the audience threw themselves to the floor or fled in panic, and Kirk was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

The investigation is being led by the FBI together with local authorities. Two people were initially brought in for questioning but were later released. Authorities confirm that a person of interest, dressed in black tactical equipment with helmet, mask, rifle and pilot goggles, has been described by witnesses. However, the killer’s identity and motive have not yet been established.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”, wrote the US president in a post on Truth Social and also published a filmed speech where he again emphasized his grief.

Photo: facsimile/Truth Social/Trump

— I am filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. Charlie inspired millions and tonight all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror.

The president described Kirk as a “martyr for truth and freedom” and argued that the 31-year-old’s mission was to make people politically engaged, something he was better at than anyone else, according to Trump.

— Charlie was the best of America. I ask people to commit themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk lived and died: the values of free speech, citizenship, the rule of law, and the patriotic devotion and love of God.

Trump emphasized that the act was directed at the entire nation and that “the monster who attacked him” apparently had political motives.

— Violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year, in the most hateful and despicable way possible.

— An assassin tried to silence him with a bullet, but he failed, because together, we will ensure that his voice, his message and his legacy will live on for countless generations to come. Today, because of this heinous act, Charlie’s voice has become bigger and grander than ever before – and it’s not even close.

Trump is one of many public figures who have commented on the murder. At the same time, large memorial ceremonies have been arranged around the country where participants have sung “God Bless America” and praised Kirk.

“Patriots are out signing God Bless America, honoring Charlie’s work to save our country”, notes journalist Nick Sortor, and talk show host Tucker Carlson briefly urged his followers to “never forget this young man”.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox described the shooting as a “political murder” and Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded as a teenager, announced in a statement that they are “devastated” by the act and promised to continue Kirk’s work.

In left-liberal media, the tone has at times been different, and several of these have tried to relativize or downplay what happened. Some have even gone so far as to baselessly try to advance the theory that Kirk was accidentally shot by one of his own supporters, despite no evidence supporting this.

Although the assassination occurred as recently as yesterday, it is already considered by many to be one of the most high-profile political murders in modern US history, where many regard Kirk as a leader and central voice for young conservative voters.
