Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, Fox News and others have declared. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has not given up hope, despite Trump’s strong lead.

At the time of writing, Kamala Harris has 224 electoral votes, while Trump has 267, according to AP News. In total, there are 538 electoral votes and the first candidate to reach 270 of these will become the next US president.

However, Trump is already assured of victory, according to Fox News and the Decision Desk. Overnight, he won in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Georgia, states that were evenly split between the candidates. However, votes are still being counted in other swing states, where Trump is reportedly leading.

Mr Trump also declared himself the winner at his official campaign rally in West Palm Beach, Florida. Accompanied by his family, he took to the stage with the campaign song God Bless the USA.

This is a movement like nobody’s has ever seen before. And now it’s going to reach a new level of importance because we’re going to help our country heal, Trump said and continued:

Every singe day I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body. I will not rest until we have delivered this strong, safe and prosperous America that you deserve. I am your 45th and 47th President. This will truly be be the golden age of America, he says.

Kamala Harris, on the other hand, says that they haven’t given up hope yet, but that she won’t be giving a speech tonight.
