Donald Trump has appointed RFK Jr as US Secretary of Health and Human Services. The President-elect justifies the decision by saying that the safety and health of Americans is a top priority.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ran as a Democratic candidate in this year’s presidential election but withdrew on the grounds that the Democratic Party has abandoned its core values and become a ‘party of war’. Kennedy then chose to give his full support to Donald Trump.

The President-elect has now announced that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be the US Secretary of Health and Human Services, in a post on X.

“I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health”, Mr Trump wrote, adding:

“The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country. Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!”

Vaccine to be properly tested

Kennedy is well known for his strong criticism of vaccines, particularly the covid-19 vaccine. He has also strongly criticised pharmaceutical companies, which by law are not held legally or financially liable for any harm caused by their vaccines or drugs.

Kennedy says a major problem with the US vaccination programme is that the vaccines have not been adequately tested to determine their risks. During the election night live broadcast with Tucker Carlson, he declared that if he were to become Secretary of Health and Human Services, he would ensure that vaccines undergo rigorous testing to evaluate their harmful effects.

– I just want to make this clear, I don’t want to take vaccines away from people. I don’t want to impose my choices on the American people… But people should be able to make informed choices, he said on election night.
