Elizabeth Warren belongs to the more left-liberal wing of the Democratic Party and has previously been known for her feminism, her efforts to increase mass immigration, and her desire to introduce a special wealth tax on the very richest in the US.
She has also been one of the most vocal critics of Israel’s recent invasion of Gaza, now openly arguing that Israel is committing genocide by legal definition.
– If you want to do it as an application of law, I believe that they will find that it is genocide, and they have ample evidence to do so, the Massachusetts senator said during a visit to the Islamic Center of Boston.
Warren’s response came after she was asked about her own views on the ICJ ruling that found it “likely” that Israel committed genocide in Gaza.
– For me, it is far more important to say that what Israel is doing is wrong, and it is wrong. It is wrong to starve the children of a civilian population in order to get them to bend to your will. It is wrong to drop 2,000-pound bombs in densely populated civilian areas, Warren stated.
At a Q&A at a Wayland mosque last week, @SenWarren is asked if she thinks that Israel is committing a genocide.

Change of heart after constituent criticism
A spokesman later insisted that the senator was “commented on the ongoing legal process at the International Court of Justice, not sharing her views on whether genocide is occurring in Gaza”.
In this context, it is worth noting that Warren initially expressed her strong support for Israel shortly after the Hamas attacks on October 7 – leading pro-Palestinian and left-wing groups to harshly criticize her and even stage protests outside her office and home.
It is not clear whether it is pressure from her own constituents that has caused her to change her position on the issue and instead become a critic of Israel’s war, or whether the change of opinion is due to the increase in Israeli crimes during the war.
