The lawyer for the president’s son, Hunter Biden, is now demanding that a handful of people who accessed the compromising information in Biden’s laptop be investigated for crimes. In the process, they also admit that the laptop was actually his.
“This failed dirty political trick directly resulted in the exposure, exploitation and manipulation of Biden’s private and personal information“, it claims in part.
The admission comes via a letter from Hunter Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell, who accuses John Paul Mac Isaac – the owner of the computer repair shop where the computer was brought in for repair, of “unlawfully” obtaining the contents of Biden’s hard drive. He is further accused of working with former President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani to use the computer findings to character assassinate Joe Biden.
“This failed dirty political trick directly resulted in the exposure, exploitation and manipulation of Biden’s private and personal information“, the lawyer writes.
“Mac Isaac’s deliberate, reckless and illegal conduct enabled hundreds of gigabytes of Biden’s personal data to circulate around the Internet without his control“, he further alleges.
The computer operator investigated the computer and hard drive in 2019 after months of trying to get Hunter Biden to come and retrieve it. When he went through the contents, he discovered, among other things, videos that by all accounts depicted Hunter smoking crack and having sex with prostitutes – but also emails linking Hunter and his father to corruption, abuse of political influence and legally dubious business deals.
When Mac Isaac realized what the hard drive contained, he called the FBI – but first sent a copy of the material to Rudy Giuliani’s associates – material that was then published by the New York Post in October 2020.
According to Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Mac Isaac, Guiliani and a handful of other Trump associates gained “unauthorized access” to the computer’s contents and passed the information on to the media and lawmakers. As a result, he is demanding that they be investigated for crimes such as theft, possession of stolen property and “computer-related property crimes.”
Mac Isaac himself, however, is not particularly worried but sums this up as an attempt to intimidate him and the others in the context of the Congressional investigation into whether Hunter Biden used his father’s political connections and close ties to the then Vice President to illicitly earn millions of dollars in involvement with foreign companies in Ukraine and elsewhere.
In previous interviews, Hunter has been reluctant to fully confirm that the infamous computer was his.
– There may be a laptop out there that was stolen from me. It could be that I was hacked. It could be that it was – that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me, he claimed in an interview with CBS 2021.
It should also be noted in this context that the information on Hunter Biden’s laptop was previously censored by Twitter as “disinformation” originating in Russia, a narrative also used by the Democrats and conventional media.
