As expected, it will be the top banker and Bilderberg veteran Mark Carney who succeeds the heavily criticized Justin Trudeau as leader of the Liberal Party and thus Canada’s new Prime Minister.
Mark Carney was the clear favorite in the Liberals’ internal vote this weekend, eventually winning 85.9% of party members’ votes.
– I will work day and night with one purpose, which is to build a stronger Canada for everyone, he promised after the election win and also took the opportunity to further fuel the conflict with the Trump administration’s United States.
– The Americans – they want our resources, our water, our land, our country. If they succeed, they will destroy our way of life.
Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed a desire for Canada to cease being an independent nation and become a US state, and it is precisely the very strained US-Canadian relations that paved the way for Carney’s rise to power. Although he has no real political experience, he has been touted as the best person to handle the trade war with the US.
The Bilderberg Group and the World Economic Forum
Mark Carney, an economist by training, worked for Goldman Sachs for 13 years – in the investment bank’s Boston, London, New York, Tokyo and Toronto offices. He joined the credit risk department as early as 1988 and rose to more prominent positions, eventually becoming responsible for debt advice to governments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In 1998, he moved to Goldman Sachs in New York, where he was responsible for corporate transactions and mergers, before moving to Canada, where Carney was eventually appointed managing director of the firm’s investment banking division.
In 2003, Carney left Goldman Sachs to join the Bank of Canada – five years later he headed the country’s central bank and was appointed Governor of the Bank of Canada in 2013 – a post he held until 2020. Since then, he has worked as an adviser to Justin Trudeau – including during the Canadian lockdown policy during the coronavirus crisis.
The Liberal also has extensive experience in various influential circles of power, having served on the board of Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum foundation and attended meetings of the shadowy Bilderberg Group for several years.
During his time as a bank manager, he has also built up a considerable private fortune and, although he cannot compete with the most wealthy people in power, he is currently estimated to be worth almost $7 million.
Comparing climate change to covid
Carney also has a background as the UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance, and has argued in various climate alarmist pronouncements that the world needs to come together to combat alleged climate change – something that is also claimed to be “a huge economic opportunity” for private actors.
– One of the biggest issues is you cannot self-isolate from climate. That is not an option. We cannot retreat in and wait out climate change, it will just get worse, the Liberal has previously said.
– When you look at climate change from a human mortality perspective, it will be the equivalent of a coronavirus crisis every year from the middle of this century, and every year, not just a one-off event. So it is an issue that needs to be addressed now, he argued in 2021.
During the coronavirus era, Canadian repression was particularly totalitarian, with those in power imposing martial law, among other measures, to combat protesters who opposed the harsh restrictive policies in the capital, Ottawa. Others had their bank accounts frozen and a large number of peaceful protesters were detained or subjected to violence by the police.
It is worth noting that a general election is expected to be held in Canada later in 2025, and that the Liberal-Conservative opposition Conservative Party of Canada would have received the most electoral support had an election been held today.
Trudeau – Schwab’s disciple
It is noteworthy that the outgoing Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, also has very close ties to the World Economic Forum and has been described as something of a disciple of founder Klaus Schwab.
Schwab has previously proclaimed that humanity is facing “a fourth industrial revolution” that will “lead to a fusion of our physical, digital and biological identities”, and Trudeau in particular has been praised as an ultimate representative of this world order.
– I couldn’t imagine anybody (than Trudeau) who could represent more the world which will come out of this fourth industrial revolution, Schwab said back in 2016.
