During a hearing with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace became very irritated with Cheatle’s unwillingness to give straight answers.
– You’re full of shit today … You’re either dishonest or you’re lying, she thundered.
Kimberly Cheatle, the head of the US Secret Service, has been under intense pressure since the attempted assassination of Donald Trump and has been the subject of massive criticism, held directly responsible for the widespread security lapses on the ground and the incompetence and inaction of the Secret Service.
At a congressional hearing on Monday, she claimed responsibility for the attack, but refused to answer direct questions from lawmakers – leading to widespread frustration.
– As the director of the United States Secret Service, I take full responsibility for any security lapse, she said, calling the attack the “most serious operational failure” in more than four decades.
However, Cheatle would not provide details about the security lapses or answer questions about the Secret Service’s strategies and tactics – instead referring to the ongoing FBI investigation or the Secret Service’s internal probe.

“You’re just dodging”
– Because Donald Trump is alive … you look incompetent. If Donald Trump had been killed, you would’ve looked culpable, Ohio Republican Mike Turner declared irritably, and others asked what Cheatle was doing there if she couldn’t answer any questions.
Nancy Mace of North Carolina went even further, asking Cheatle if she wanted to use her allotted five minutes of questioning to draft her resignation – which Cheatle declined to do, and the irritation continued to mount.
– You’re full of shit today … You are either dishonest or lying. These are important questions that the American people want answers to and you’re just dodging, Mace declared angrily.
Cheatle, however, chose to continue ignoring the questions.
