Principal Kaj Majuri believes that it is safe to send your children to Trångsundsskolan.

On Wednesday morning, a teenager at Trångsundsskolan in Huddinge was shot by another student – allegedly in one of the school’s toilets.

The school’s principal says it was “a conflict between two students that degenerated and emphasizes that it should be safe to send your children to school.

– There was an incident at the school this morning where two students had a conflict that degenerated to the point where one of the students was injured so badly that he had to be taken away by ambulance, said headmaster Kaj Majuri during a press conference.

– The police are investigating what exactly happened, he continues, giving no further details about what the conflict was about or how it could have escalated to the point where one student shot another.

The police do not want to comment on the school shooting at the moment but say that they have arrested one perpetrator and that they are not looking for more perpetrators at the moment – there is also no information about more victims.

The Trångsund school has about 700 students from preschool to grade 9, with the youngest children as young as five or six years old. According to the school, “safety” is one of the four key words that characterize its daily work, along with knowledge, health and exercise.

A call for calm

Principal Majuri says that despite the shooting, the school is now a safe place and that other students or relatives should not worry about similar acts in the future.

– We are taking this seriously. We will provide students and staff with the support they need. I also hope that parents and guardians will feel that this was a terrible event, but that it is safe to send their children to Trångsundsskolan.

– The goal is to start school as usual on Friday, he continues.

(“Welcome to Trångsundsskolan, an F-9 school in Trångsund, Huddinge.”
So it’s an F-9 school, a school with students from the age of 5 until the year they turn 16.
I am at a loss for words …)
