A Koran burning event on Wednesday afternoon gathered hundreds of spectators at the Stockholm mosque.
The event was organized by Salwan Momika, an immigrant from Iraq who is critical of Islam. After an introductory speech in Arabic, Momika played a version of Sweden’s national anthem, after which pages were torn out of the Koran and the book ignited.
Extra police resources from across the country have reportedly been called in for the event.
