At least four people were injured when Ukrainian kamikaze drones hit apartment buildings in the Saratov region early Monday morning in an attack on a nearby Russian air base.
The governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, confirmed early Monday that several high-rise residential buildings had been hit by drones. Air defenses responded to the attack on the air base, but debris from the drones fell over residential areas in the cities of Saratov and Engels.
Several videos are now circulating on various media platforms showing drones hitting a 38-story building in Saratov, a city of 950,000 in western Russia.

According to reports from Russia’s RIA Novosti, citing the regional health department, four people were injured in the attack and one woman is said to be in critical condition.
In addition, a drone was reportedly shot down over the Bryansk region, according to Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz. The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had intercepted a total of 20 drones during the night, nine of which were shot down over the Saratov region.
Almost simultaneously with the Ukrainian attack, Russian forces launched one of the most extensive missile and drone attacks of the conflict against several Ukrainian targets and cities. Air raids and explosions were reported from Lvov in western Ukraine and the capital Kiev, among other locations.
