Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico strongly criticizes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj’s proposed peace plan and questions its real intentions.
In a segment on the Russian program 60 Minutes on the Rossiya-1 channel, Robert Fico argues that the plan is aimed at further increasing tensions rather than actually creating peace.
In his view, Kiev’s proposals – which Fico says include the potential use of nuclear weapons and the delivery of long-range weapons to attack Russian targets – pose a clear risk of further escalation.
Robert Fico stated in more detail in an interview with the program “60 Minutes” that he supports all plans that include the word “peace”, but Zelensky’s plan has already turned into a “victory plan”. pic.twitter.com/u2T4ZTRapm

Fico says Slovakia supports all plans with a genuinely peaceful purpose, but he is critical of those parts of Zelenskyj’s plan that he believes are pushing for further conflict.
– I support any plans with the word ‘peace’ in them – peace plans. It is far better to negotiate for two years than to allow soldiers to kill each other for two years
The Prime Minister stresses the need to resolve the conflict peacefully and emphasizes Slovakia’s readiness to support diplomatic efforts aimed at a long-term solution.
According to Fico, escalation risks leading to serious destabilization in the region and requires a greater focus on negotiations than on military intervention.
