Israel's UN ambassador claims that the UN is doing the bidding of Hamas.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, is outraged by the genocide charges brought against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague.

He argues that the UN and its institutions “have become weapons in service of terrorist organizations” and therefore it is not Israel but the UN that “should be put on trial in The Hague”.

On Friday, Israel demanded that the ICJ dismiss the genocide case filed by South Africa in late December, which accuses the Israeli state of committing genocide against Palestinians during the ongoing invasion and bombardment of Gaza.

The Israeli regime claims that it abides by international law, has the right to self-defense, and that it is South Africa that has the “audacity” to make “false and baseless” accusations of genocide.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, goes much further, arguing that the UN is in cahoots with Hamas and that this is why the issue of genocide is being raised in the first place.

“The proceedings in The Hague demonstrate how the UN and its institutions have become weapons in service of terrorist organizations”, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“The UN is the one who should sit on trial in The Hague for turning a blind eye, and thereby serving as an accomplice, to the digging of terror tunnels in Gaza, in the use of international aid for the production of missiles and rockets, and in the education of hatred and murder”, he claimed in another post.

Calls for Secretary-General’s resignation

Erdan previously called for the resignation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres after he said that Hamas attacks on Israel “did not happen in a vacuum”.

It should also be noted that former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon angered the Israelis when he commented on the actions of the Hamas group by saying that “people will always resist an occupation”.

Gilad Erdan has already announced that he and other Israelis at the UN will wear yellow stars at future meetings of the Security Council because he believes the council has not sufficiently condemned Hamas attacks.

– From this day on, each time you look at me you will remember what staying silent in the face of evil means. Just like my grandparents, and the grandparents of millions of Jews, from now on my team and I will wear yellow stars. We will wear this star until you wake up and condemn the atrocities of Hamas, he announced in late October.
