Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is warning the world that ultra-globalist and currency speculator George Soros’s political influence campaign network is leaving the United States – and seeking to strengthen its influence over Brussels and Europe.
“WARNING! Our fears have come true: the globalist-liberal-Soros NGO network is fleeing to Brussels, after President Trump dealt a huge blow to their activities in the US”, writes Hungary’s leader.
He points out that 63 of these organizations have already asked those in power in Brussels for funding and financial support – often under the pretext of working on various human rights projects.
However, Orbán declares that Soros’ networks are just as unwelcome in Europe as they are in the US.
“Not going to happen! We will not let them find safe haven in Europe! The USAID-files exposed the dark practices of the globalist network. We will not take the bait again!” he proclaims.

Trump froze funding
Orbán is referring to a petition in which the International Commission of Jurists lobby group and some 60 other NGOs are demanding that EU countries take over the funding of their activities – after US President Donald Trump recently issued an executive order freezing all US foreign aid for 90 days.
“(We) call on EU leaders to take immediate action to address the global development aid crisis triggered by recent decisions by the U.S. administration”, the left-wing organizations write.
“The appeal urges the EU, as the world’s largest foreign aid provider, to step up its leadership and ensure continued support for democracy, human rights, global health, and humanitarian assistance”, they add.
According to the NGOs, it is particularly important for the EU to spend money on groups and projects working on “reproductive rights, gender equality and LGBTIQ rights” and to put diplomatic pressure on the US to resume payments to left-wing activist organizations.
“Transatlantic oligarchy”
This is far from the first time Orbán has harshly criticized Soros’ network. The Nordic Times has previously reported on how he believes that Brussels today is “occupied by a left-wing transatlantic oligarchy”, and that the EU’s constant attacks and threats against Hungary are orchestrated “by the liberal united front funded by George Soros” that seeks to influence Europe’s political direction.
The newspaper has also reported on how the United States Agency for International Development (USAID ) has spent billions funding various forms of left-liberal projects and advocacy campaigns in other countries – including Soros’ Open Society Foundations.
According to Viktor Orbán, the agency funded “virtually the entire left-wing media in Hungary” during the Biden administration – with the aim of trying to force a regime change in the country.
