Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election to Donald Trump and has previously accused Russia and its President Vladimir Putin of manipulating the electoral process. Now she is once again claiming that Russia will interfere with the 2024 US elections – and also says that Putin is driven by a hatred of democracy and the West.
While appearing on the Inside With Jen Psaki program this past Sunday, the former secretary of state and senator said she was convinced that Putin had “interfered” in previous US elections and that the Russian president would do the same in the upcoming elections.
– The Russians have proved themselves to be quite adept at interfering and if (Putin) has a chance, he’ll do it again.
US policymakers – particularly opponents of Donald Trump – have long claimed that Russia actively worked to “undermine” US democracy and public confidence in the electoral process, and reinforced “socio-economic divisions” in the country. It has also been alleged that Putin himself led the operation to influence the US election results – but no evidence of this has ever been presented.
– His modus operandi is that he hates democracy. He particularly hates the West, and he especially hates us, she stated.

Common war rhetoric
Public statements that various foreign leaders or political groups “hate democracy” were very common among US officials in the years before and after the turn of the millennium. These claims were used, among other things, as a model for explaining why regimes and populations in the Middle East were hostile to the US and its imperialist policies.
When the US invaded Afghanistan and Iraq and overthrew the leadership in these countries, one of the reasons given was to establish democracy.
Hillary Clinton argues that Putin’s strategy is to “damage and divide” the US from the inside and that his plan is to “restore the Russian empire”.
Therefore, all Americans must stand united against the “authoritarian dictator and his apologists”, she said, claiming that those Americans who do not vote the way she wants are part of a “creeping fascism” ready to vote for “wannabe dictators”.
