A drone attack took place in Moscow early this morning. The Russian Defense Ministry described the incident as an attempted terrorist attack by the Kiev regime.
No one was reportedly injured in the incident.
Two combat drones crashed into non-residential buildings in Moscow early Monday morning. According to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, “the attempt of the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with two unmanned aerial vehicles against facilities on the territory of Moscow was foiled”.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the incident “did not cause any major damage”.
The attack was reportedly repelled by electronic warfare systems, which means that the drones’ electronic equipment was disrupted to the point of crashing.
Most of the debris from the drones was found on Komsomolsky Prospekt in central Moscow. As a result, traffic in the area was partially restricted and residents were advised to plan alternative routes.
One of the downed drones hit a building housing the offices of the French retail chain Leroy Merlin.
This is not the first time Moscow has been targeted by drones – most notably the drone attack on the Kremlin in early May.
