Pontus Sevius died suddenly after receiving Moderna’s Covid vaccine, a vaccine that the Swedish National Board of Health recommends should not be given to anyone in his age group. The family is now entitled to an arguably paltry compensation “for grief and loss” from Sweden’s legal, financial and administrative agency, the Kammarkollegiet.
On February 4, 2022, Pontus collapsed in the street and died. Two weeks earlier, he had taken Moderna’s covid vaccine Spikevax, which was against the recommendations of the Swedish National Board of Health Folkmyndigheten. In the fall of 2021, the agency stated that there was an increased risk of Spikevax causing myocarditis and pericarditis in people born in 1991 or later, especially in boys and young men.
Despite this, Pontus was injected with Moderna’s covid vaccine Spikevax. The autopsy report did not establish a definitive cause of death, but mentioned the vaccine as a possible cause of the 30-year-old’s death.
Since then, Michaela Olofsson, 34, and her almost 8-year-old daughter, Jasmine, have been trying to get answers to Pontus’ death.

On three occasions, the case was taken up by Kammarkollegiet, where it was argued that the covid vaccine did not cause Pontus’ death. Then, with the help of Dr. Sture Blomberg and others, they asked another insurance doctor to re-evaluate the case, and after the fourth attempt, things turned around and the authorities granted compensation to the family.
Kammarkollegiet, the agency that acts as the government’s insurance company, confirmed that Pontus’ death was “due to Moderna’s vaccine against Covid 19”. The family will receive SEK 30,000 each as compensation for grief and loss.
– Money is good because it is a whole income that is gone. But it is not easy to be happy. It is very little money. It feels a bit like a human life is not worth more than SEK 30,000, Michaela told Bonnier’s Expressen newspaper.
Since Pontus’ death, Michaela has suspected that the covid vaccine caused her husband’s death, something that now feels good to have in black and white, but the grieving process is still just as difficult. “It is also difficult for our daughter Jasmine,” says Michaela, who has told her daughter that her father died because of the covid vaccine.
– She asks why we had to take it, says Michaela.
The Värmland region decided to report the incident to Lex Maria after an investigation, local newspaper NWT reports, but IVO, the Health and Care Inspectorate, has not yet investigated the case.
– 30,000 crowns is a slap in the face. No amount of money can bring Pontus back, but Jasmine and Michaela should be adequately compensated for what they have been through, Michaela’s mother Malin told the newspaper.
