Vegan influencer believed to have starved to death

39-year-old vegan influencer Zhanna Samsonova D’Art died suddenly in July. According to friends, she had been eating only fruit for the past seven years and they are convinced that she died of starvation due to her raw vegan diet.

The Russian-born influencer had been living in Southeast Asia for some time, advocating a strict raw vegan diet to her millions of social media followers. A few months ago, she started feeling unwell and on July 21 she died suddenly, the New York Post reports.

The 39-year-old had been eating a completely vegetarian diet of fruits and vegetables and sunflower seeds for the past few years. However, her friends say the diet was more strict than that and that she had only eaten jackfruit and durian fruit, which is known to have a very bad smell, for the past seven years.

“I eat simple food, although I have a lot of experience as a raw food chef. I love creating my own recipes and inspiring people to eat healthier“, the influencer previously wrote.

The cause of death has not been determined, but according to her mother, she contracted a “cholera-like infection”. However, her friends are convinced that she died because of her diet.

– You don’t need to be a doctor to understand where this will lead, one friend of D’Art says.

Another friend testifies that she “melted” in front of their eyes and that her body looked like it had been “tortured by idiocy”.

– Zhanna’s stagnation made her melt before our eyes, but she thought everything was fine. Only her eyes, happy eyes and gorgeous hair compensated for the terrible sight of a body tortured by idiocy, said another friend. Forgive me if that sounds harsh.

Despite the influencer’s sudden death, several of her social media followers refuse to believe that it was her diet that finally killed her, but that it was the result of chemicals in the fruits she ate.
