Klaus Schwab in Davos: “The future is shaped by us”

The globalist agenda

Trump joined via video link and did not mince his words.

Collaboration for the intelligent age” was the main theme as leaders from all corners of the globe gathered for this year’s power conference.

The Trump presidency, artificial intelligence, the war in Ukraine, deregulation and the future of Europe’s economy were some of the topics on the agenda of the Davos powers that be this week.

The 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, ended on Friday after five days of discussions, networking and grandiose statements from the power elite. Under the theme “collaboration for the intelligent age, nearly 3000 participants from over 130 countries gathered, including more than 350 government leaders and 60 heads of state and government.

This transition from the Industrial to the Intelligent Age is occurring at an exponential pace, carrying unprecedented risks for humanity as we strive to prepare and adapt for its complexities, declared Forum founder and chairman Klaus Schwab.

– Yet, it also offers significant opportunities to transcend our current challenges and spark a new renaissance – one defined by advancements in knowledge, health, culture and societal welfare, the ultra-globalist continued.

“The future is shaped by us”

Schwab called on the global community to approach the situation with “constructive optimism” and urged stakeholders from all sectors government, business, civil society and academia to unite in finding solutions to common challenges.

– By embracing constructive optimism and believing in our collective capacity and commitment to improving the state of the world, we can shape the Intelligent Age as an age where every human being can realize their full potential, he continued

– The future is shaped by us here in this room, he added proudly.

Schwab’s words, however, were met with skepticism from critics who argue that the WEF has not delivered concrete results despite decades of lofty rhetoric. This year’s conference focused on five key areas: “Reimagining Growth”, “Industries in the Intelligent Age”, “Investing in People”, “Safeguarding the Planet” and “Rebuilding Trust”.

Middle East and Ukraine

Talks on Middle East peace intensified following ceasefires between Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah. Speculation grew that Donald Trump, back as US president, could be the one to convince Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accept a Palestinian state.

Meanwhile, Iran chose to use the forum to signal a willingness to renegotiate the nuclear deal. Vice President Javad Zarif stressed that Iran has no ambition to build nuclear weapons and called for a policy based on opportunities, not threats.

Peace negotiations for Ukraine also took center stage, with Trump expressing via a video link his willingness to meet immediately with the Russian president to negotiate an end to the conflict. However, Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, demanded a 200,000-strong European peacekeeping force as a condition for an agreement a request that Russia rejected. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to prepare for increased privatization and foreign investment to support its reconstruction.

Trump at the center

Deregulation in the US was described as a catalyst for economic growth and mergers across industries. At the same time, cryptocurrencies continued to be a topic of debate, with many players awaiting upcoming US regulations before fully integrating crypto-assets into the traditional financial world.

Two years after the breakthrough of ChatGPT, tech leaders discussed how AI could transform the labor market, especially through the automation of repetitive tasks. The United States is currently ahead of China in AI development, but the need for technology-friendly policies and infrastructure investments was emphasized as crucial to maintain the lead.

Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement and his efforts to boost the country’s energy exploration have received mixed reactions. Europe has often been urged to speed up its own energy transition to remain competitive, while many policymakers in Davos pointed out that China and the EU, rather than the US, are the de facto drivers of the “global climate transition”.

The President-elect’s decision to dismantle federal programs for alleged diversity, equality and inclusion has caused some concern among left-liberal businesses, which argue that these initiatives have been crucial to their success. Discussions therefore took place on how to reformulate strategies to continue to promote what they claim is equality and representation of minorities in the workplace.

“Existential” challenges for Europe

Trump’s return to the White House has also raised concerns among Chinese business leaders and investors that bilateral relations between the world’s two largest economies could deteriorate further, but the US president unexpectedly refrained from imposing tariffs on China on his first day back in office, and during his Davos video address he expressed a need for China’s help to end the war in Ukraine. The move led some to speculate about a coming rapprochement between Washington and Beijing.

Global investors said they retain an interest in China-related assets but are keen to see more concrete stimulus measures. They will pay particular attention to clues about how Beijing plans to tackle the protracted property crisis, the high indebtedness of local governments and weak consumer demand.

European Central Bank chief Christine Lagarde described Europe’s economic challenges as “existential”. EU leaders called for faster action to facilitate innovation and prevent new businesses from moving to the US. At the same time, businesses want to see concrete liberalization measures to increase Europe’s attractiveness.

Argentina’s newly elected president, Javier Milei, shocked many participants with a controversial speech in which he sharply criticized what he called a destructive “woke ideology” and called for a return to libertarian principles. Milei’s speech exemplified the growing divide between left-liberal and conservative forces that characterized this year’s forum.

Growing criticism

During the forum, Chinese vice-premier Ding Xuexiang also sought to defuse tensions with the West by stressing China’s openness to trade and improved business climate, while South African president Cyril Ramaphosa took the opportunity to speak about his country’s priorities as G20 chair ahead of the Johannesburg summit later this year, highlighting the importance of solidarity, equality and sustainable development.

His French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, argued for increased joint investment within the EU and deeper cooperation between member states’ capital markets. At the same time, his vision of a more “united” Europe is being questioned by voices concerned about European countries losing their national sovereignty.

While discussions in Davos revolved around geopolitical uncertainty, climate change, the economy and technological advances, especially in AI, frustration grew outside the conference center. Activists and critics argue that the WEF has become an exclusive club for the elite, far removed from the realities and concerns of ordinary people. Despite promises to address global challenges, concrete action has often failed to materialize after previous forums.

Many critics also question the relevance of an event where the world’s richest and most powerful gather to discuss problems they themselves often help create or exacerbate, describing it as a club of mutual admiration with no real popular influence.

Klaus Schwab under investigation for corruption – by his own globalist organization

The globalist agenda

Schwab denies all allegations - and threatens to sue the board if they proceed with the investigation.

Members of the Board of Directors of the infamous World Economic Forum confirm the launch of a formal investigation against founder Klaus Schwab.

Whistleblowers accuse the globalist forum’s frontman of widespread corruption, including using the organization’s money for private cash withdrawals, massages, nights in luxury hotels and expensive trips abroad.

Yesterday, Schwab resigned with immediate effect after having led the powerful organization in Davos since 1971. The reason, reportedly, is a letter from a whistleblower raising alarm about serious financial and ethical misconduct – in which the 87-year-old and his wife are accused of systematically funding their exclusive private lifestyle with the organization’s donations.

For example, the Villa Mundi, located near the WEF headquarters in Geneva, was allegedly used privately by the Schwab family – even though it was purchased for the equivalent of €50 million of the organization’s money.

In addition to luxury consumption, Schwab is also said to treat his employees unacceptably – women close to him have reportedly been treated particularly badly.

The allegations have been deemed so serious that Schwab is now being investigated by the organization he himself once founded – and the board confirms that it has called in several legal experts for the purpose.

In a statement, the WEF says it “takes the allegations seriously” – but is careful to stress that these are as yet unproven and that it “will await the outcome of the investigation to comment further”.

Threatens to sue the board

Klaus Schwab himself denies all the allegations and claims they are completely unfounded. He claims that he has not misappropriated the forum’s assets at all and has also threatened to sue the board if they choose to proceed with the investigation.

In this context, it should be mentioned that Schwab is generally considered one of the world’s most high-profile globalists and technocrats – and The Nordic Times has over the years highlighted his activities in a series of articles.

He has often been recognized as a horror example of the international elite’s plans for the world – for example, when he proclaimed that his disciples are “penetrating the cabinets” of world’s governments or that “the fourth industrial revolution will lead to a fusion of our physical, digital and biological identities“.

Norwegian ex-minister takes over World Economic Forum

The head of the WEF, Børge Brende, is also a member of the Bilderberg Group's steering committee.

After nearly 54 years, 86-year-old globalist and technocrat Klaus Schwab has decided to step down as Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. Instead, the new leader will be Norway’s former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Bilderberg top Børge Brende.

The World Economic Forum has evolved into one of the world’s premier power conferences where world leaders, lobbyists, media moguls, bankers, entrepreneurs and other power brokers come together to discuss the state of the world and decide which agendas to focus on.

The article was originally published on The Nordic Times on May 24, 2024.

Schwab founded the forum in 1971 and has long been its main public face. He has also become a deeply unpopular figure, especially for the ultra-globalist and technocratic policies it has advocated. He himself has repeatedly boasted about the influence of his network and how his followers have “penetrated” governments around the world and influenced policy.

– I have to say that when I mention our names like Mrs. Merkel and even Vladimir Putin, and so on. All of them have been Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum. But what we are very proud of right now is the young generation like Prime Minister Trudeau, the President of Argentina and so on, that we are penetrating the cabinets, he proudly told us in 2017.

– I was at a reception for Prime Minister Trudeau and I should know that half of his government or even more than half of his government is from the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders, he continued.

Bilderberg and Høyre

Schwab has also been heavily criticized for his high salary, equivalent to almost one million Swedish crowns a month, and for his organization financially benefiting various private companies linked to Schwab and his family. However, the profiled globalist will not be leaving the WEF altogether, but will take up a new role as ‘non-executive’ chairman of the forum.

The organization has undergone a planned governance evolution from a founder-driven organization to one in which a chairman and board take full executive responsibility”, the WEF writes in a statement.

His successor Børge Brende has been at the helm of the WEF since 2017 and has been responsible for many of its day-to-day operations for some time.

Brende, who has a long background in Norway’s liberal-conservative Høyre party, has served as the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of the Environment and Minister of Trade and Industry. He is also a member of the Bilderberg Group’s steering committee.

Reports: Bilderberg meeting to be held in Sweden

The globalist-oriented Bilderberg Meeting is, according to yet unconfirmed reports, set to hold this year’s gathering in Sweden. The exact date and participant list have not yet been officially confirmed, but the meeting is reportedly planned to take place in Stockholm in mid-June.

The Bilderberg Group’s controversial gatherings have long faced strong criticism, primarily due to the meetings being described as an important arena for the actual power establishment of the Western bloc – where the economic and political elites are effectively brought together – while lacking public transparency about what is actually discussed and decided beyond general agenda items. The meetings follow the so-called Chatham House Rule, which allows participants to use information from discussions but prohibits revealing who said what.

Wallenberg family key Swedish figures

A long line of Swedish prime ministers have attended the meeting, including the last four, Ulf Kristersson, Magdalena Andersson, Stefan Löfven, and Fredrik Reinfeldt. The most prominent Swedes within the group are the power players surrounding the Wallenberg dynasty and their investment company Investor. Both Marcus Wallenberg and his uncle Peter Wallenberg have for many years been members of the meeting’s so-called steering committee.

The meeting has been held in Sweden on four previous occasions, in 1962, 1973 and 1984 at the Wallenberg-owned Grand Hotel in Saltsjöbaden, and in 2001 at the Hotel Stenungsbaden in Stenungsund in connection with the EU summit in Gothenburg. Last year’s meeting was held in Madrid.

Once dismissed as a “conspiracy theory”

The public denied for a long time that the meeting was organized, or even existed, and was dismissed in the mainstream media for many years as a “conspiracy theory”. In the 21st century, as a result of independent media coverage, it has since been recognized that the meeting has actually been taking place since 1954, with high-profile lists of participants typically ranging from 120-150 specially invited participants.

Goldman Sachs veteran takes over Canada

The globalist agenda

Published 12 March 2025

Mark Carney has claimed, among other things, that climate change-related deaths “will be the equivalent of a coronavirus crisis every year”.

As expected, it will be the top banker and Bilderberg veteran Mark Carney who succeeds the heavily criticized Justin Trudeau as leader of the Liberal Party and thus Canada’s new Prime Minister.

Carney, who previously served as the central bank governor for both Canada and the UK, also has a long background as an executive at investment bank Goldman Sachs and has sat on the board of the globalist World Economic Forum’s foundation.

Mark Carney was the clear favorite in the Liberals’ internal vote this weekend, eventually winning 85.9% of party members’ votes.

– I will work day and night with one purpose, which is to build a stronger Canada for everyone, he promised after the election win and also took the opportunity to further fuel the conflict with the Trump administration’s United States.

– The Americans – they want our resources, our water, our land, our country. If they succeed, they will destroy our way of life.

Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed a desire for Canada to cease being an independent nation and become a US state, and it is precisely the very strained US-Canadian relations that paved the way for Carney’s rise to power. Although he has no real political experience, he has been touted as the best person to handle the trade war with the US.

The Bilderberg Group and the World Economic Forum

Mark Carney, an economist by training, worked for Goldman Sachs for 13 years in the investment bank’s Boston, London, New York, Tokyo and Toronto offices. He joined the credit risk department as early as 1988 and rose to more prominent positions, eventually becoming responsible for debt advice to governments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In 1998, he moved to Goldman Sachs in New York, where he was responsible for corporate transactions and mergers, before moving to Canada, where Carney was eventually appointed managing director of the firm’s investment banking division.

In 2003, Carney left Goldman Sachs to join the Bank of Canada five years later he headed the country’s central bank and was appointed Governor of the Bank of Canada in 2013 a post he held until 2020. Since then, he has worked as an adviser to Justin Trudeau including during the Canadian lockdown policy during the coronavirus crisis.

The Liberal also has extensive experience in various influential circles of power, having served on the board of Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum foundation and attended meetings of the shadowy Bilderberg Group for several years.

During his time as a bank manager, he has also built up a considerable private fortune and, although he cannot compete with the most wealthy people in power, he is currently estimated to be worth almost $7 million.

Comparing climate change to covid

Carney also has a background as the UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance, and has argued in various climate alarmist pronouncements that the world needs to come together to combat alleged climate change something that is also claimed to be “a huge economic opportunity” for private actors.

– One of the biggest issues is you cannot self-isolate from climate. That is not an option. We cannot retreat in and wait out climate change, it will just get worse, the Liberal has previously said.

– When you look at climate change from a human mortality perspective, it will be the equivalent of a coronavirus crisis every year from the middle of this century, and every year, not just a one-off event. So it is an issue that needs to be addressed now, he argued in 2021.

During the coronavirus era, Canadian repression was particularly totalitarian, with those in power imposing martial law, among other measures, to combat protesters who opposed the harsh restrictive policies in the capital, Ottawa. Others had their bank accounts frozen and a large number of peaceful protesters were detained or subjected to violence by the police.

It is worth noting that a general election is expected to be held in Canada later in 2025, and that the Liberal-Conservative opposition Conservative Party of Canada would have received the most electoral support had an election been held today.

Trudeau Schwab’s disciple

It is noteworthy that the outgoing Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, also has very close ties to the World Economic Forum and has been described as something of a disciple of founder Klaus Schwab.

Schwab has previously proclaimed that humanity is facing “a fourth industrial revolution” that will “lead to a fusion of our physical, digital and biological identities”, and Trudeau in particular has been praised as an ultimate representative of this world order.

I couldn’t imagine anybody (than Trudeau) who could represent more the world which will come out of this fourth industrial revolution, Schwab said back in 2016.
